Las Vegas

So people....Here I be. Vegas, Sin city! Well, it certainly is an interesting city. It is surprising but Vegas is far more conservative than most people know. The strip is filled with plenty of sin and if you drive a short distance from the strip you'll find the most conservative family neighborhoods. Wow! Who'd a thunk? So in saying all of that it's been an adventure in meeting people and generating some MUSIC!!!!!! The magic has kicked in and I have met some jazzin guys to fly around the musical stratosphere with. We opened last week at Bellagio in the Fontana Bar. Yes, you guessed it we have a fabulous view of the fountain right outside the many double doors on the side of our room. It's a new show in many ways for me. I finally have a pro's space with lights and a sound engineer. Yeeha!! How does it get any better than that? I'm singing again and after 2 months of being here for my Mom after her stroke it is a blessing that she was there to hear and enjoy seeing her daughter sing in Vegas!!! What else is possible?

Seoul Town

Hey hey hey, How does it get any better than this? I am on the road again! Korea is peering through my eyes and it's looking pretty delicious. I am asking a lot of questions and living this life of adventure moment to moment. I’ve returned to kimchi, soon dubu and samgyop sal and my tummy is thrilled. I just finished teaching an Access class last weekend and it was awesome! In this city on the other side of the world the humanoids abound and everyday I connect to them energetically and hope to meet them in one of my classes very soon. What a party that would be! The caring I have for the changes all of us would like to make is enormous. What would it take to be willing to bust those paradigms that continue to burden our lives with constant heaviness? The weather here in Seoul has been pretty warm for this time of year. As all of my close friends know I am fascinated with weather and the consciousness of weather has not failed to excite me. When I first arrived it was pretty darn cold! I asked a few questions and lo and behold, spring had sprung. A miracle!!! What else is possible? My barometric connection with my friend the weather, has since demonstrated a colder temperature and still it is warm for this time of year. Anyone who has been in Seoul in the winter will appreciate my conversations with the consciousness of weather. I’ll be here for a little while longer before taking off for Miami and soon my adventures in the West will begin. So stay tuned for more good stuff from Karen Jones Live in Las Vegas. Be the magic people, be the magic.

Macau Holy Cow!! 3/12/2008

Hello out there, Karen here on another adventure on this blue marble of ours. I've been in Macau for about 2 weeks and it is still growing on me. It's hard to describe, so I won't put it in a box. Th only thing I'd like to say is the tension around winning and losing is everywhere. One other thing is that the Chinese are really serious about gambling. There are my awarenesses/observations and you'd probably say that's obvious. Sooo, I'm enjoying my nights singing with Michael Levi on piano. He has a lyrical way to his playing. I thoroughly enjoy when he takes off without a life jacket. (smile) The waiters and waitresses are from all over Asia and are kind, spunky and absolutely adorable. The MGM is quite a casino and hotel. It's brand spanking new. So you can imagine my room is stunning and so is the food. The band across the way, Henry's group, in the "Lions Bar" are awesome!! They hail from Van Couver, Canada and they rock the hell out of that bar. Sorry to say they leave in a few weeks. Oh well, what else is possible? There are some lovely mountains in the distance I'd like to walk in. This island is still to discover. There's plenty of gambling going on, but what else is there to enjoy on the island of Macau?
